IonQ, Inc. (NYSE:IONQ) shares are volatile on Friday. The company announced a deal with South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT (Information and Communications Technology) after the close of markets on Thursday.

What To Know:

IonQ signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the South Korea Ministry of Science and ICT to support an education and leadership program for technology professionals and assist with the implementation of a local quantum ecosystem.

"Through this agreement with the Ministry of Science and ICT, we are honored to take part in developing quantum science and technology professionals and preparing South Korea's quantum industry infrastructure," commented Jungsang Kim, CTO of IonQ.

"We hope we can contribute to the country's vision of becoming a global quantum-centered economy by 2030 by providing practical support, such as an education, training, and leadership expansion program utilizing IonQ's specialized quantum computing resources and experience."
