US stock futures are lower this morning. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 52 points to 13,084.00 and S&P 500 index futures fell 6.30 points to 1,419.60. Nasdaq 100 futures tumbled 8.50 points to 2,652.00.US stocks closed lower on Friday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropping 0.91% to 13,190.84, the S&P 500 index falling 0.94% to 1,430.15 and the Nasdaq 100 index declining 0.96% to 3,021.01. US stock markets will close early today at 1 p.m. ET for Christmas Eve.United Technologies (NYSE: UTX) announced its plans to sell its UTC Power fuel cells unit to ClearEdge Power. General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) bought Applied Physical Sciences for an undisclosed amount. Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) bought all the assets of CDL Systems Ltd. However, terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. European markets were mostly lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index fell 0.04%, London's FTSE 100 Index gained 0.20% and French CAC 40 Index declined 0.19%.Asian markets ended higher, with China's Shanghai Composite gaining 0.27% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rising 0.22%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index climbed 0.16% and India's Sensex rose 0.07%.Crude oil for February delivery dropped $0.05 to trade at $88.61 a barrel.The ICE dollar index dropped 0.10% to trade at 79.46, down from 79.575 late Friday.
