US Stock Futures Down; Gold Futures Rise

US stock futures are lower this morning. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 32 points to 13,111.00 and S&P 500 index futures fell 4.20 points to 1,411.80. Nasdaq 100 futures declined 7.25 points to 2,628.75.US stocks closed mixed on Friday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average gaining 0.62% to 13,155.13, the S&P 500 index rising 0.29% to 1,418.07 and the Nasdaq 100 index dropping 0.38% to 2,978.04. Casey's General Stores (NASDAQ: CASY) is estimated to post its Q2 earnings at $0.85 per share on revenue of $1.91 billion. ABM Industries (NYSE: ABM) is projected to post its Q4 EPS at $0.40 on revenue of $1.08 billion.John Wiley & Sons (NYSE: JW-A) is estimated to report its Q2 earnings at $0.82 per share on revenue of $447.49 million. IDT (NYSE: IDT) is projected to report its Q1 earnings at $0.35 per share on revenue of $394.10 million.Canada approved CNOOC Ltd (NYSE: CEO) offer to acquire Nexen (NYSE: NXY). Kforce (NASDAQ: KFRC) declared a special cash dividend of $1.00 per share. Wipro Ltd (NYSE: WIT) announced its plans to acquire a 100% stake in Singapore firm L.D. Waxsons Group for $144 million in cash. European markets were lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index declined 0.50%, London's FTSE 100 Index dropped 0.31%, French CAC 40 Index declined 0.75% and German DAX 30 index fell 0.58%.Asian markets ended mostly higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average gaining 0.07%, China's Shanghai Composite surging 1.07% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rising 0.14%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index rose 0.39% and India's Sensex dropped 0.07%.Crude-oil for January delivery gained $0.39 to trade at $86.32 a barrel in electronic trading, while gold futures climbed $5 to $1,710.50 an ounce.The ICE dollar index gained 0.07% to trade at 80.46, up from 80.408 late Friday.
