US Stock Futures Up; Economic Data In Focus

US stock futures are higher this morning. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 41 points to 13,010.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 5 points to 1,372.30. Nasdaq 100 futures surged 9.25 points to 2,617.25.US stocks closed mostly higher on Monday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropping 0.01% to 12,981.51, the S&P 500 index gaining 0.14% to 1,367.59 and the Nasdaq 100 index rising 0.08% to 2,966.16. The Commerce Department is scheduled to report January durable-goods orders at 8:30 a.m. The Case-Shiller home price index for December will be released at 9 a.m. ET. The Conference Board's consumer-confidence index for February will be released at 10 a.m. ET. The Richmond Federal Reserve Bank is scheduled to release its monthly index of regional activity.FirstEnergy Corp (NYSE: FE) is expected to post its Q4 earnings at $0.76 per share on revenue of $5.7 billion. AutoZone Inc (NYSE: AZO) is projected to report its Q4 earnings at $4.04 per share on revenue of $1.78 billion. Sempra Energy (NYSE: SRE) is expected to post its Q4 earnings at $1.06 per share on revenue of $2.58 billion. Office Depot Inc (NYSE: ODP) is estimated to post its Q4 EPS at $0.00 on revenue of $3.01 billion. Tenet Healthcare Corp (NYSE: THC) is estimated to report its Q4 earnings at $0.14 per share on revenue of $2.42 billion. Cablevision Systems (NYSE: CVC) is estimated to report its Q4 earnings at $0.24 per share on revenue of $1.68 billion. Dominos Pizza Inc (NYSE: DPZ) is estimated to post its Q4 earnings at $0.49 per share on sales of $514 million. El Paso Corp (NYSE: EP) is projected to post its Q4 earnings at $0.27 per share on revenue of $1.33 billion. Fresh DelMonte Produce Inc (NYSE: FDP) is estimated to report its Q4 earnings at $0.15 per share on revenue of $837.3 million. Sanderson Farms Inc (NASDAQ: SAFM) is projected to report its Q4 earnings at $0.26 per share on revenue of $508.9 million.Priceline.com Inc (NASDAQ: PCLN) reported its FQ4 earnings, excluding one-time charges, at $5.37 per share, on revenue of $991 million. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $5.06 per share on revenue of $969.3 million. Sina Corp (NASDAQ: SINA) projects Q1 adjusted revenue between $101 million and $104 million, versus analysts' estimates of $114 million. European markets were higher today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index gained 0.16%, London's FTSE 100 Index moved up 0.15%, French CAC 40 index rose 0.27% and German DAX 30 index climbed 0.41%.Asian markets ended mostly higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average gaining 0.92%, China's Shanghai Composite rising 0.20% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moving down 0.08%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index rose 1.65% and India's Sensex surged 1.64%.Nymex crude-oil futures dropped $0.16 to $108.40 a barrel in electronic trade on Tuesday.
