CSTR Q4 earnings from continuing operations at $31.5 million, or $1 per share, up from $11.7 million, or $0.68 per share, in the year-ago period. Its revenue surged to $520.5 million from $390.8 million. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.65 per share on $498.3 million in sales. Coinstar announced its plans to buy NCR Corp's DVD rental kiosks and other entertainment assets for up to $100 million.Shire plc (NASDAQ: SHPGY) added 4.71% to $104.50 in the pre-market session. SHPGY's trailing-twelve-month ROE is 29.51%.Perrigo Company (NASDAQ: PRGO) moved up 2.48% to $96.34 in the pre-market session. PRGO reported upbeat quarterly earnings.Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSE: S) soared 2.44% to $2.52 in the pre-market trading. Sprint announced that it is partnering with Orange Business Services to extend global machine-to-machine (M2M) reach.
