Actress and author Bella Thorne is joining models Rachel Cook and Jay Alvarrez as an ambassador of DRIHP, an eco-friendly hemp apparel and accessories brand.

DRIHP is a company founded by Luke Dandrea, a millennial entrepreneur known for the launching of Clone Connect, an insurance company focusing on hemp flower, hemp seed and hemp crop.

The news of Thorne's involvement was first reported by Women's Wear Daily.

The recently introduced DRIHP hemp clothing line touts that it uses significantly less water for production — 1/20 of the amount that is used to grow and process traditional cotton fabrics.

Thorne, 22, is the co-founder of Forbidden Flowers cannabis and CBD brand. The "Life of a Wannabe Mogul" author launched the company in October 2019 through Glass House Group.

DRIHP is hoping Thorne's media presence — a base of 23 million Instagram followers, 6.8 million Twitter fans, and 542,000 YouTube subscribers — can help raise awareness of the brand and hemp as a viable alternative to less sustainable textiles.

"When Luke approached me about DRIHP, I was like, yes, yes… Let's save the planet dude and let's educate the world on this wonderful, amazing product, that we can make clothes out of, build houses with, eat when we are hungry, the uses for it are virtually limitless," stated Thorne on the collaboration with Dandrea.

She added hemp is essential in "saving the planet" and that she was "stoked to be able to play a small part of that education."

"If you can change one person's mind, you can help change the world," she said.

Jay Alvarrez

DRIHP is hoping Alvarrez can be a face for the brand as well.

The Oahu Hawaii-born photographer is a social media mogul and currently the face of a number of campaigns, including Coca Cola, Omega Watches, Armani and Hyundai.

Alvarrez, 25, is also an extreme sports enthusiast who generated over 100 million views on his and his clients' YouTube videos featuring him jumping out of airplanes or driving rough breathtaking landscapes.

In addition, he has been teaming up with influencers and superstars like Kygo or Alexis Ren.

"Bella bleeds authenticity, and so does the brand. She caught on immediately. Jay set the foundation early on and realized his platform was ready to learn about environmentalism," said Dandrea.
