Legendary investor Carl Icahn filed his first quarter Form 13F with the SEC on Friday. According to the document, his equity portfolio increased slightly in value over the quarter, from $31.89 billion, to $32.05 billion, approximately.

The portfolio is quite concentrated, comprising 20 stocks, and focused on technology (33 percent of portfolio) and industrials (34 percent) segments.

 

Top Five

Icahn’s largest bet this quarter was placed on his own company, Icahn Enterprises LP IEP, of which he owns 108,810,845 shares, worth more than $9.75 billion. This stake accounts for more than 30 percent of his total equity portfolio, and was unchanged over the quarter.

The second-largest position is that in Apple Inc. AAPL, which comprises 52,760,848 shares, worth roughly $ 6.56 billion, and represents more than 20 percent of the total portfolio. It also remained untouched over the period.

Third in line is CVR Energy, Inc. CVI, unmodified as well. Icahn disclosed ownership of 77,198,718 shares as of March 31. These were worth $3.15 billion at the time of the filing, and represented almost 10 percent of the total portfolio.

eBay Inc EBAY came in fourth, with 46,271,370 shares, worth $2.66 billion.

Despite having witnessed a 14 percent increase in Icahn’s position over the quarter, Federal-Mogul Holdings Corp FDML remained in the fifth spot in the list. The investor declared holding 138,590,141 shares, worth more than $1.84 billion.

Other stocks that saw changes in Icahn’s exposure were:

Chesapeake Energy Corporation CHK: Icahn bought 6.6 million shares over the quarter. He now owns 73.05 million shares, worth more than $1 billion.

Manitowoc Company Inc MTW: the corporate raider more than doubled his wage on the company, taking his holdings to 10,582,660 shares as of March 31.

Talisman Energy Inc. (USA) TLM: the investor sold all of his 76,060,078 shares before Repsol SA (ADR) REPYY completed the acquisition of the company last week.
