Apple's Best Potential "One More Thing" Tomorrow

We all know that tomorrow, October 4, is going to a
great day for AppleAAPL
investors, fans, and tech journalists, when the company announces its latest refresh to the iPhone lineup. When former CEO Steve Jobs used to host the events, there was always the famous "One more thing" comment that he would have, used to introduce something special. It could be a new iPhone, iPad, iPod, or something really cool that excited the masses. With Tim Cook as the CEO now, running things since
Jobs stepped down,
will there be the "one more thing" comment? It could be Jobs himself, according to
Reuters.
The article said that Jobs is "expected" to appear at the event, but that if he were not to show up, it would not be considered a "major disappointment." Jobs stepped down back in August, after having to recuse himself in February for another medical leave. Jobs has battled pancreatic cancer since 2004. The expected life expectancy of pancreatic cancer is very short, and Jobs has easily surpassed that. When he resigned in August, Jobs took over as Chairman of the Cupertino-based company, but did say that he will have a key role in Apple's product development. He said that he believed that Apple's best days were ahead of it, and that he was certain that Tim Cook was the right man for the job. Despite being on medical leave since February, Jobs was at the iPad 2 launch in March. He was still the CEO then, (in name only), but he did announce the product. There very well could be another appearance by the man who many credit with creating an entire economy based on Apple's products. The expected demand for the iPhone 5 is expected to shatter records, with some saying it could see "unprecedented demand." In a research note, Brian White, an analyst with Ticonderoga Securities, said that there will be a "media blitz" and the iPhone 5 could break records like never before. He noted that the iPhone is now available on 228 carriers around the world, up from 154 when the iPhone 4 was launched in 2010. Piper Jaffray is so bullish on the launch of the iPhone 5, that it
sees the potential for over 200 million iOS devices
in 2012, so the record breaking sales of the iPhone 5 could very well happen. Apple has created an ecosystem and an economy like no other company in the world. The demand for its products continues to astound even the most bullish investors and forecasters. Goldman Sachs recently noted that the demand for the iPhone 4 was exceptionally strong going into the iPhone 5 launch, indicating that the demand for Apple products has never been stronger. Apple may even announce an
iPhone 4S
tomorrow, but we will all have to wait until Cook and the rest of his executive team make their presentation. While we may not get a "one more thing" in terms of a new product, that "one more thing" could very well be Steve Jobs. For many, that could be the best "one more thing" of all.
