Seyfarth Shaw LLP, one of America’s leading full-service law firms, today announced that Simeon Spencer has joined the firm as a partner in the firm’s International Labor & Employment Practice Group. Spencer brings with him Associate Anna Margolis. Both will be resident in the firm’s New York office. Prior to joining Seyfarth Shaw, Spencer was a partner at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP in London where he led that firm’s European Employment practice. Margolis was an associate in Morgan Lewis’ London office.
Spencer’s practice focuses on European employment matters and the complex challenges that they present. His work covers all areas of employment law, including corporate support work on M&A, outsourcing and IPO deals. Spencer has developed a focus on collective and individual redundancies and reorganizations, particularly of a multi-jurisdictional nature across Europe. His practice also encompasses European collective labor law and trade union law. Spencer is also well known for his complex employment litigation experience.
“The addition of Simeon to our International Labor & Employment Practice Group builds on our already market-leading practice,” said J. Stephen Poor, Chair and Managing Partner of Seyfarth Shaw. “Simeon’s multi-jurisdictional European experience will strengthen our abilities to seamlessly meet our clients’ employment law needs throughout Europe.”
“Simeon is a leading European employment lawyer, and his approach and dedication to world-class client service are a perfect fit with our international employment law practice model,” said Darren G. Gardner, Chair of Seyfarth Shaw’s International Labor & Employment Practice Group. “While Simeon will be resident in our New York office, his focus will be to help service our clients’ European needs and facilitate and nurture our relationships with our partner law firms in Europe.”
In today’s competitive business environment, global employers face an increasingly complex web of multinational, national and local employment laws and regulations.
