SEVEN Signs Global Agreement with Samsung Electronics to Power Integrated Messaging and Social Networking on Mobile Devices

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

SEVEN®, the leader in push-enabled mobile email and messaging solutions for mass market devices, today announces that it has signed a global agreement with Samsung Electronics to power Samsung Social Hub™, the company’s new social networking and integrated messaging applications for mobile devices. By using the SEVEN push platform, Samsung will give mobile users access to all of their communications touch points – voice, email, instant messaging, social networking, contacts and more – under a single, lightweight user interface.

As consumers become increasingly reliant on their mobile devices, it is important that they are able to easily and immediately access all their contacts and communications applications in a simplified fashion. By integrating the SEVEN platform, Samsung is able to streamline this communication for its customers.

“We are pleased to be working with Samsung on its new Social Hub™ application,” said Ross Bott, CEO and President of SEVEN. “We believe that a key growth driver in mobile communications is in integrated messaging and social networking solutions – a streamlined user interface that connects a subscriber’s friends contact information and social networks all under one umbrella. Think mobile, office and home numbers, work and professional emails, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other networks all right at your fingertips. The one-click integrated social network coupled with the power of push-enabled services will drive growth in operators’ subscriber bases.”

“One of the key hurdles for operators to stay ahead of the competition is in ensuring that the services and applications they provide their subscribers are fresh and available on sophisticated, user-friendly devices,” said Kang M. Lee, SVP of Samsung Electronics’ Media Solution Center. “Samsung Social Hub™ not only gives operators a faster-time-to-market edge over the competition, but it allows end-users to activate their communities on their hands. Couple these key benefits with a sticky integrated application and operators shall obtain a new avenue to drive overall user adoption and customer loyalty.”

Samsung is able to go to operators with fully loaded devices that do not require them to spend precious resources – both time and capital – in developing integrated networking solutions for their customers.

The first Samsung mobile device featuring SEVEN includes Samsung’s first bada device, the Wave, which was introduced at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Support for other mobile operating systems is also part of the agreement. For more information, follow SEVEN on Twitter at www.twitter.com/SEVEN_Networks.
