Icahn: I Do Not Own One Share Of Time Warner

The New York Post reported on Monday that "one well-known activist" investor is acquiring a large stake in Time Warner Inc TWX. The report added that "several sources" revealed the the activist investor is Carl Icahn and he is preparing a second run at the company following a 2006 battle to break up the company.

Icahn: 'I Don't Own One Share'

Speaking to CNBC on Monday evening, Ican said "I don't own one share" of Time Warner. The legendary investor added that "certain speculators" are using his name "to make profits at the expense of other shareholders."

Shares of Time Warner lost more than 2 percent during Monday's session, but are still higher by more than 7 percent since the start of the new year.

The stock was up about 1 percent on Monday evening, but recently traded at $69.98, up 0.4 percent in Tuesday's pre-market session.
