Lebron James’ 11 assists during the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 95-93 NBA Finals game two victory over the Golden State Warriors certainly demonstrate the four-time MVP’s on-court generosity with the basketball. However, Northeast Ohio Media Group reported this week on just how generous of a teammate “King James” is off the court as well.

Message to teammates
According to reports, James rented a lounge in the Four Seasons in San Francisco prior to the start of the NBA Finals to convey a message to his team about the difficulties they would be facing during the finals.
At the center of James’ message were the ideas of solidarity, teamwork and overcoming adversity.

James’ message became eerily relevant following the Cavs’ game one overtime loss, a game in which the team lost Kyrie Irving to injury for the remainder of the finals.

Easing jitters
After James concluded his speech to teammates, he reportedly shifted the tome of the meeting to a more casual, light-hearted discussion in an effort to calm any NBA Finals jitters his teammates might be feeling. “A lot of times when you go into hotels, you might see a guy for breakfast or a meeting and that would be it. He brought us out and we talked about regular, everyday stuff instead of just the Finals,” teammate J.R. Smith explained.

Gift from the King
Before the evening concluded, James gave all his teammates a gift: one of Apple Inc’s AAPL brand new Apple Watches. “It’s just my way of showing them I care,” James told reporters. “It’s not the first time and it won’t be the last time.”
