Riverbed Technology, Inc. RVBD will be acquired by Thoma Bravo LLC and the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan in a deal that values the company at $3.6 billion, according to Reuters.

“The firms offered $21 per share in cash, representing a premium of 12 percent to Riverbed's Friday closing price,” according to the report.

Following the acquisition announcement, Tripp Levy PLLC, a national securities and shareholder rights law firm, announced that it is investigating the acquisition of Riverbed Technology on behalf of its shareholders, according to a press release.

The investigation seeks to determine if there was an adequate auction process and if Thoma Bravo is underpaying for Riverbed share which the law firm contends may be worth at least $22 per share, according to analyst estimates.

Riverbed Technology, Inc. closed at $18.74 Friday.
