CNBC's Jim Cramer had nothing but high praise for the management of CONSOL Energy Inc. (NYSE: CNX), as he commented last night on the company’s recent performance. He told his viewers that “The people running Consol Energy have done an amazing job of steering their company through an insanely difficult period. Btu the time to buy the stock was four months ago, not now.”

Cramer has a point. A share of CONSOL purchased back in mid-January would have brought back a 163 percent return by now.

Nonetheless, Cramer cautions new investors that, “At this point, I think you just have to acknowledge that you missed the move, let it go, but congratulate management for pulling it off.”

CONSOL traded at $14.44 an hour into Wednesday’s session, up 3 percent.
