Sears Holdings Rising On Unusual Volume (SHLD)

Shares of Eddie Lampert's Sears Holdings Corp. (NASDAQ: SHLD) are seeing some unusual activity this morning. The stock has surged 6.16% to $74.34 on heavy volume in early trade. More than 430,000 shares have already traded hands compared to a daily average volume of 782,000. There does not appear to be any news driving the activity in the name.

SHLD is trading above both its 200-day moving average of $69.05 and its 50-day at $67.61, but well off its 52-week high which is at $125.42. Year-to-date, SHLD has fallen a little more than 11%. In the last month, however, the stock has gained a little over 13%.
