Ray Borelli, Managing Director at SkyBridge Media LLC was kind enough to share a preview of this Sunday’s Wall Street Week broadcast with Benzinga.

This week’s guests will be Hightower CEO Elliot Weissbluth, Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Managing Director & Senior Portfolio Manager Shelley Bergman and former NYSE CFO Amy Butte.

This article will focus on Shelley Bergman’s take on the extremely volatile and –in the words of host Gary Kaminsky- “anxiety filled” third quarter.

When asked about the volatility seen in the third quarter, Bergman responded that, over the past three months, he has seen “one of the most confusing landscapes for investors.”

“You’ve got the Fed, whether they should go, whether they shouldn’t go… People are very focused on it,” he explained. “You have the growth in China… A lot of people aren’t trusting the numbers coming out of China. You have the uncertainty with oil prices (…) with commodity prices, fluctuations in currencies…”

The Portfolio Manager certainly understands that the stock market is characterized by uncertainty. However, he sees in the current market, “a convolution of events happening right now, during a low liquidity environment… You haven’t heard from companies yet, on their third quarter conference calls (…) I think a lot of pessimism has been put in the marketplace and a lot of big names across, not only equities, but in commodities, in fixed income, has discounted a lot of some of the potential bad news that may come in the third quarter,” he supplemented.
