Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP) shares are trading higher by $6.89 at $96.50 in Thursday's session.

The catalyst for the rally to a new all-time high is a Q4 EPS beat of $0.21 along with a $9 million revenue beat; The company also raised Q1 and FY 2017 guidance.

After a higher open, it retreated only $0.50 to $94.50 before continuing its move higher. So far, the rally has reached $97.24, but now the issue falling back into the $96.00. That high far exceeds it former all-time high that was made on January 13 at $92.23.

In order to post a new all-time closing high, the issue would need to end the session above $90.71.
