The Dow rose 0.33 percent 19,186.80, while the NASDAQ composite index declined 1.06 percent to 5,267.37. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index fell 0.19 percent to 2,194.75.

The worst performing industries in the market today are:

  • Semiconductor - Integrated Circuits: This industry slipped 2.4 percent by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was Superconductor Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCON), which fell 13 percent. Superconductor Technologies shares have dropped 13.62 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 4.57 percent in the same period.
  • Housewares & Accessories: This industry declined 1.9 percent by 11:00 am with Clorox Co (NYSE: CLX) moving down 2.4 percent. Clorox’s PEG ratio is 3.14.
  • Application Software: The industry dropped 1.7 percent by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was Bazaarvoice Inc (NASDAQ: BV), which declined 10 percent. Bazaarvoice reported Q2 earnings of $0.02 per share on revenue of $50.4 million.
  • Internet Software & Services: This industry fell 1.6 percent by 11:00 am ET. Momo Inc (ADR) (NASDAQ: MOMO) shares dropped 4.5 percent in today's trading.
