Real estate developer and reality TV star Donald Trump coasted to victory in the US Presidential election Tuesday night, winning 31 states and 279 electoral votes. The result came as a surprise to many in the media and pollsters, but another reality TV star wasn't so surprised: investor Kevin O'Leary.

“America doesn’t want political dynasties, they want the right man or woman for the time,” O’Leary told Benzinga. “It’s not a monarchy. There won’t be any more Clintons, or Bushes, or Kennedys.”

O’Leary says he “supports policies, not politicians,” and was “100% behind” Trump’s plan to cut regulations and lower the business tax rate.

“These policies will unleash growth. You won’t believe the amount of hoops Wicked Cupcakes had to go through to bake one cupcake," he said, referring to the company he invested $75,000 on Shark Tank.

Economists are split as to whether Trump’s policies will spur growth or cause a recession, but the S&P 500 closed Wednesday at 2159.25, up 20 points from the open.
