  • China Finance Online Co. (ADR) (NASDAQ: JRJC) dropped 16 percent to $4.36. China Finance Online reported Q2 earnings of $0.50 per share on revenue of $11 million.

  • United States Steel Corporation (NYSE: X) slipped 5.3 percent to $20.67. KeyBanc downgraded United States Steel from Sector Weight to Underweight.
  • Sanchez Energy Corp (NYSE: SN) shares fell 4.8 percent to $8.73. KLR Group downgraded Sanchez Energy from Buy to Accumulate.
  • Stein Mart, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMRT) dropped 4.6 percent to $8.58 as the company reported weak results for the second quarter.
  • Emerson Electric Co. (NYSE: EMR) shares declined 3.5 percent to $52.76 as the company announced a deal to buy Pentair plc (NYSE: PNR)'s valves & controls unit for $3.15 billion. Credit Suisse downgraded Emerson Electric from Outperform to Neutral.
  • Estee Lauder Companies Inc (NYSE: EL) slipped 3 percent to $92.42. Estee Lauder posted better-than-expected Q4 earnings, but issued a weak earnings forecast for the year.
  • Canadian Solar Inc. (NASDAQ: CSIQ) shares declined 3 percent to $13.93 after surging 17.53 percent on Thursday. Cowen & Company downgraded Canadian Solar from Outperform to Market Perform.
  • Gordmans Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ: GMAN) shares declined 3 percent to $1.34 after the company posted downbeat Q2 results and issued a weak forecast for the current quarter.
