  • Wall Street expects J C Penney Company Inc (NYSE: JCP) to report a quarterly loss at $0.15 per share on revenue of $2.93 billion before the opening bell. J C Penney shares gained 3.72 percent to $10.31 in after-hours trading.
  • Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE: JWN) reported better-than-expected earnings for its second quarter on Thursday. Nordstrom shares surged 10.60 percent to $52.60 in the after-hours trading session.
  • Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co (NYSE: HPE) announced plans to acquire Silicon Graphics International Corp (NASDAQ: SGI) for around $275 million. Silicon Graphics shares climbed 28.76 percent to $7.70 in after-hours trading, while Hewlett Packard Enterprise shares fell 0.05 percent to $21.77 in the after-hours trading session.
  • Analysts are expecting Brookfield Asset Management Inc (NYSE: BAM) to have earned $0.23 per share on revenue of $4.78 billion in the latest quarter. Brookfield Asset Management will release earnings before the markets open. Brookfield Asset Management shares slipped 0.03 percent to close at $35.32 on Thursday.

  • NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ: NVDA) reported stronger-than-expected Q2 results after market close on Thursday. NVIDIA saw Q3 revenues at $1.68 billion plus or minus 2 percent vs. estimates of $1.45. Additionally, management forecasted Q3 non-GAAP gross margins to be 58.0 percent. NVIDIA shares gained 2.38 percent to $61.12 in the after-hours trading session.
  • Dillard's, Inc. (NYSE: DDS) reported upbeat earnings for its second quarter, but sales missed analysts’ estimates. Dillard's shares dropped 3.03 percent to $64.40 in the after-hours trading session.
  • Analysts expect Applied Industrial Technologies (NYSE: AIT) to report its quarterly earnings at $0.66 per share on revenue of $643.13 million before the opening bell. Applied Industrial Technologies shares gained 0.21 percent to close at $48.19 on Thursday.
  • Planet Fitness Inc (NYSE: PLNT) posted upbeat earnings for its second quarter on Thursday. The company raised FY 2016 revenue guidance to $366 million to $372 million, from $360 million to $370 million. Planet Fitness shares gained 3.05 percent to $20.95 in the after-hours trading session.
  • Ruby Tuesday, Inc. (NYSE: RT) posted weaker-than-expected earnings for its fourth quarter and announced plans to close around 95 underperforming restaurants. Ruby Tuesday shares dropped 6.43 percent to $3.49 in the after-hours trading session.
