Watsco Dividend Offers 2.4% Yield

Watsco Inc (NYSE: WSO) revealed that its board declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of 85 cents on each outstanding share of its common and class B common stock. The dividend worked out to $3.30 a share for the full year. The dividend offered 2.4 percent yield, which is lower than the five-year average yield of 3.4 percent.

The company, which has been paying a dividend since 1975, said that it fixed July 15 as the record date for determining the eligible shareholders. The company indicated that the cash dividend would be payable on July 29.

Watsco's dividend represented approximately 63.0 percent of its payout from its profit. This is lower than the five-year average payout ratio of 97.0 percent. Its dividend growth for the five-year average period was 43.0 percent whereas it was 6.68 percent for the three-year period.

Watsco closed Friday's regular trading session up 1.08 percent on the day at $142.21.
