Boston Beer Co Inc (NYSE: SAM) was up about 0.6 percent. The company hired Jonathan Potter as its new chief marketing officer. The current managing director of Chandon at Moet Hennessy USA will take over the Boston Beer position in August, and bring almost 30 years of expertise in the alcoholic beverage industry to the company.
Energy Transfer Equity LP (NYSE: ETE) gained 8.4 percent after-hours, after a Delaware judge decided the company could walk away from its $20 billion+ takeover of Williams Companies Inc (NYSE: WMB) without a penalty. Williams Companies’ stock lost more than 5.6 percent since the bell rang; the company has previously declared that it would appeal the ruling, if favorable to Energy Transfer Equity LP.
