Social media is buzzing about an apparent Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) car unveil, after Motor Trend published several images of apparent Apple Car concept art.

The images' linkage to Apple is unconfirmed at the moment, but Motor Trend isn't pulling any punches.

Whether they're designed by any artist with a connection to Apple remains to be seen, but one group of investors is spooked. Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA) shares were reacting negatively to circulation of the images.

In a recent interview with AppleCarFans.com, Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster said, “There will be a car that you can see and order in 2019-2020," adding, "an advantage of showing it early [is] to hold up the market in anticipation."

Also of note, Munster said it'd be difficult to keep every plan related to the Apple Car under wraps. "I think there is going to be a long steady flow of information," he explained, adding that it's "hard to keep that under wraps.”
