Roper Technologies Tanks Following Disappointing Q4 Report, Guidance

Roper Technologies Inc (NYSE: ROP) reported its fourth quarter results on Monday, which fell short of Wall Street's expectations.

Roper Technologies earned $1.82 per share in the fourth quarter on revenue of $947.6 million. Wall Street analysts were expecting the company to earn $1.87 per share on revenue of $960.61 million.

Looking forward to the first fiscal quarter of 2016, Roper Technologies guided its earnings to a range of $1.42 to $1.47, short of the $1.71 per share Wall Street analysts were already estimating. For the full fiscal year 2016, the company guided its earnings per share to a range of $6.85 to $7.15, also short of the $7.43 the Street was estimating.

Shares of Roper Technologies opened for trading at $157.34 and hit an intra-day low of $157.30 before rebounding. By early afternoon the stock was trading at $162.68, down 7.39 percent on the day.
