  • Shares of World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: WWE) were trading up more than 1.3 percent on Wednesday.

This week's episode of "Monday Night Raw," the fallout show from Sunday's Survivor Series pay-per-view, registered a new viewership low. The show had been performing quite well in the US, but ratings plummeted on Monday, breaking below the three million viewers mark for the first time since the show started running for three hours in 2012. Moreover, the viewership figure was the lowest recorded by the show since 1997.

The hourly viewership breakdown goes as follows:

  • Hour 1: 3.19 million viewers (down from 3.54 million last week)
  • Hour 2: 2.99 million viewers (down from 3.29 million last week)
  • Hour 3: 2.71 million viewers (down from 3.05 million last week)

"What's really amazing about this is this is the night after what is traditionally a major PPV, one that featured the conclusion of a tournament to crown a new world heavyweight champion. The interest should have been there," Cageside Seats, one the well-known wrestling sites noted.
