The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index surged 0.59 percent to 2,093.59.The worst performing industries in the market today are: Home Furnishing Stores: This industry declined 1.8 percent by 11:00 am with Williams-Sonoma, Inc. (NYSE: WSM) moving down 3.7 percent. Williams-Sonoma reported stronger-than-expected results for the third quarter, but the company issued a weak forecast for the current quarter. Silver: The industry dropped 1.7 percent by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was First Majestic Silver Corp (NYSE: AG), which declined 2.5 percent. Silver futures fell 0.65 percent to trade at $14.16 an ounce. Business Software & Services: This industry tumbled 1 percent by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was Datawatch Corporation (NASDAQ: DWCH), which fell 1.6 percent. Datawatch's PEG ratio is -0.66. Copper: This industry fell 0.7 percent by 11:00 am ET. Freeport-McMoRan Inc (NYSE: FCX) shares dropped 2.6 percent in today's trading.
