The Rumor:
Shares of Amgen (NASDAQ: AMGN) rose Wednesday on unconfirmed market chatter of a potential offer from Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ). The offer is reported to be $176 per share. Amgen is said to have hired Goldman Sachs to handle the deal.Spokespersons for the companies did not respond to requests for comment.Amgen closed at $148.05 on Wednesday, a gain of almost 5%.SABMiller Rejects Revised AB InBev offerThe Rejection:
Anheuser-Busch InBev (NYSE: BUD) announced Wednesday, a revised proposal to the Board of SABMiller plc (OTC: SBMRY) for AB InBev to acquire SABMiller for £42.15 per share in cash, with a partial share alternative available for approximately 41% of the SABMiller shares. AB InBev has made two prior written proposals in private to SABMiller, the first at GBP 38.00 per share in cash and the second at GBP 40.00 per share in cash. AB InBev is disappointed that the Board of SABMiller has rejected both of these prior approaches without any meaningful engagement.The Board of SABMiller met to consider the revised proposal from AB InBev, unanimously rejecting it as still very substantially undervaluing SABMiller. The Anheuser-Busch InBev CEO declined to say if it would puruse a hostile takeover.Anheuser-Busch InBev closed at $110.96 Wednesday, up 1%.

Dell Said to be in Merger Talks With EMCThe Rumor:
Privately-held Dell is reportedly in merger talks with EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC), according to Dow Jones. A deal could be in the works for all or part of EMC.EMC closed at $25.96 Wednesday, and traded 9% higher after-hours.Gannett to Acquire Journal Media Group for $12.00/Share in CashThe Deal:
Gannett Co., Inc. (NYSE:L GCI) and Journal Media Group, Inc. (NYSE: JMG) announced Wednesday, that Gannett has agreed to acquire all of the outstanding common stock of Journal Media Group for approximately $280 million. Journal Media Group shareholders will receive $12.00 per share in cash. The transaction is expected to close in Q1 of 2016.Journal Media Group closed at $8.30 Wednesday, and traded at 11.88 after-hours.
