SINA Corp (NASDAQ: SINA) also jumped on its earnings report after tumbling 2.77 percent during the day. The small-cap Chinese online media company was up about 2 percent (and volatile) after-hours, ahead of the earnings call scheduled for 10:10 p.m. ET.

According to Estimize, the Street is expecting consensus earnings of $0.05 per share on revenue of $200.07 million, down from $0.17 per share and $187 million reported a year ago, but up from the $0.04 per share and $181.98 million delivered last quarter.

On the other hand, MediciNova, Inc. (NASDAQ: MNOV) was down almost 8 percent after the bell rang, following the announcement of a proposed underwritten public offering of Common Stock.

Also tumbling after-hours is Canadian Solar Inc. (NASDAQ: CSIQ), down almost 7 percent on its second-quarter financial results. The downtrend was triggered by lower-than-expected solar modules shipments and a soft guidance for the third quarter.

Weibo Corp (ADR) (NASDAQ: WB), which surged 2.67 percent during the day, continued to rise 6 percent after-hours, after the company beat revenue and earnings estimates for its second quarter.
