Benzinga's #PreMarket Prep, a daily trading idea radio show. The Priceline Group (NASDAQ: PCLN) shares are trading higher by $64 at $1347.99. The catalyst for the rally is a solid Q2 EPS beat for EPS $12.48 vs. Est. $11.98B on lower sales $2.09B vs. Est. $2.27B. Also, the company raised guidance for Q3 GAAP EPS $22.95-$24.45 vs. Est. $23.32.The rally was fast and furious in premarket trading as the issued surged all the way to $1415.15 before retreating. However, the rally off the opening bell was halted at $1395 before reversing course. The ensuing decline took the issue all the way $1325.10, then rebounded and has been consolidating in the $1340 handle. The former all time high for the issue was made back in March 2014 at $1378.98 and the all time closing high stands at its March 5, 2014 close of $1370.43. The issue would need to rally another $20 before the close in order to post a new all time closing high.After an above average volume session on Tuesday as 1.24M shares traded, today's price activity will easily top that figures as 1.4N share have already traded with over four hours remaining in the session.
