3M (NYSE: MMM) announced Thursday, that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire health care products manufacturer Ivera Medical Corp. Terms were not disclosed.3M shares lost $0.31 Thursday, closing at $167.09.Ball to Acquire Rexam for $6.6B in Cash, Stock Deal

The Deal:
Ball Corporation (NYSE: BLL) and Rexam PLC (OTC: REXMY) confirmed Thursday, an offer by Ball to acquire all of the outstanding shares of Rexam in a cash and stock transaction, valued at $6.8B. Rexam shareholders will receive 407p in cash and 0.04568 new Ball shares. Necessary approvals from regulatory authorities are expected in H1 of 2016.Ball shares fell more than 4% Thursday, to close at $73.85.FTC Files Lawsuit to Block Sysco-US Foods MergerThe Lawsuit:
Shares of Sysco Corporation (NYSE: SYY) fell Thursday, on a report that the U.S. Federal Trade Commission was filing a lawsuit to block the $3.5 billion merger with U.S. Foods, Inc. The commission voted 3-2 in favor of a suit, stating the merger would create a dominant national food company that could control prices.Sysco responded to the suit, saying it would contest and was looking forward to a full judicial review of the significant competitive benefits of the merger.Sysco shares closed Thursday at $38.56, a loss of more than 3%.
