IHS Automotive Analyst On 153% Increase In Tesla Model S Registrations For October: Registration Data Is Sent From Every State

Speaking to Benzinga, IHS Automotive Analyst Thomas Libby said that his firm had found registrations for the Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA) Model S had increased 153 percent year over year for the month of October.

IHS Automotive has contracts with every state, Libby explained.

So these aren’t just estimates. This is hard data that IHS enters into its software packages, which enables the analysts to manipulate the data and look at changes from last year to this one.

But the data is delayed for a little more than a month. That’s why he only just now has data for October.
