Dell Greater China President Amit Midha has announced its plans to launch its 7-inch tablet in the upcoming weeks and a 10-inch tablet within a year.Dell Inc (NASDAQ: DELL) has entered the tablet makers list following the launch of the iPad by Apple Inc (NASDAQ: AAPL). Midha said, “It was showed off at Oracle World by Michael last week and we'll be launching very, very soon--within the next few weeks.” He added, “In fact, very much in the near future we'll be launching the 7-inch tablet as well as the additional 3-inch product.”Midha affirmed that the 7-inch tablet will run on Android OS, adding that some products will be Windows based.Last week, Dell had said that it was expecting its annual revenue to go by US$60 billion in the current year.According to Midha, Dell is expecting China to overtake the US as the biggest computer market by 2012. Dell also expects 18%-20% growth in China.Shares of Dell gained 1.55% to $12.91 at 1:08 pm.Read more
