General Mills (NYSE: GIS) announced a deal after the close yesterday to acquire organic and natural food maker Annie's (NASDAQ: BNNY) for $46 per share in cash. The news sent shares of BNNY up nearly 38 percent so far today, trading at 48.18.Shares of Hain Celestial (NASDAQ: HAIN) are trading higher as well, up 2.90 percent at 100.60, likely in sympathy with BNNY. Amira Nature Foods (NTB:ANFI) were trading 3 percent higher at the best levels of the day, although they have pulled back since to up.42 percent at 19.03.
