Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE: HPQ) has agreed to buy ArcSight Inc (NASDAQ: ARST) in a $1.5 billion deal. The deal is HPQ's second substantial purchase in the past two weeks, following the company's acquisition of 3PAR (NYSE: PAR). Last month HP acquired software security vendor Fortify Software. HPQ reported that the ARST acquisition will give its customers control to actively supervise real-time issues, measure risks and react to threats quickly. HPQ is offering $43.50 a share for ArcSight's shares. HPQ shares lost 0.37% to $38.06 at 1:28 pm.Read more
