Paul Weiss, CEO of PaperPlanes, was a panelist on “The State of California Retail” at Benzinga’s Cannabis Capital Conference. Weiss shared that the cost of capital is really challenging in the state of California currently. He went on to say that whether it is the terms demanded or the preferences demanded, the cost of capital has skyrocketed recently. This trend is even harder for lower and middle-level market companies that have fewer fail-safes in place.
