Alphabet Inc.'s (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Google published its “Year in Search” report, highlighting the top searches of 2022.

What Happened: Among the “how to pronounce…” questions, the one that topped the list in the U.S. was “How to pronounce Qatar?”

The official pronunciation sounds similar to 'Cutter' but with 'Kuh' in the beginning, as popular YouTuber Mr. Q explained in his 2019 YouTube Video. "The official pronunciation of my country is 'Kuh-tar.'"

The other top searches in the "how to pronounce..." list were Kyiv, Puzzle, Omicron and Encanto. 

Apart from the "how to pronounce..." category, the most trending search word on Google was 'Wordle,' definition was 'Rupee,' news was 'Election Results,' recipe was 'Sugo' and sports teams was 'Philadelphia Phillies.' 

Qatar is currently holding the FIFA World Cup 2022, which started on Nov. 20 and will end on Dec. 18.
