Kroger Co (NYSE: KR) swung to a fourth-quarter loss on Thursday. Kroger posted a quarterly loss of $307 million, or $0.54 per share, versus a year-ago profit of $279 million, or $0.44 per share. Its total sales climbed 7.7% to $21.4 billion. Excluding one-time charges, Kroger's adjusted earnings came in at $0.50 per share. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.49 per share on revenue of $21.4 billion. Kroger projects 2012 earnings of $2.28 to $2.38 per share, versus analysts' estimates of $2.22 per share.Kenneth Cole Productions Inc (NYSE: KCP) swung to a profit in the fourth quarter. Kenneth Cole posted its quarterly profit at $8 million, or $0.43 per share, versus a year-ago loss of $2.7 million, or $0.15 per share. Its net sales climbed 8.5% to $117 million. Kenneth Cole's wholesale revenue surged 47% to $62.3 million, while consumer direct revenue dropped 17% to $54.7 million.Toronto-Dominion Bank (NYSE: TD) posted a drop in its first-quarter profit. TD raised its quarterly dividend to 72 Canadian cents per share. TD posted its quarterly earnings at C$1.48 billion, or C$1.55 per share, versus C$1.56 billion, or C$1.67 per share, in the year-ago period. Its adjusted earnings rose to C$1.76 billion, or C$1.86 per share, versus C$1.62 billion, or C$1.73 per share. Analysts were expecting earnings of C$1.76 per share. Nash-Finch Company (NASDAQ: NAFC) reported its Q4 EPS at $0.97 on revenue of $1.14 billion. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.82 on revenue of $1.11 billion.Veolia Environnement SA (NYSE: VE) swung to a loss in 2011. Veolia posted a net loss of EUR489.8 million, versus a profit of EUR558.5 million in the year-ago period. Analysts were expecting a profit of EUR106.8 million. Veolia's revenue surged to EUR29.65 billion from EUR28.76 billion. Its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization dropped 14% to EUR3.15 billion from EUR3.66 billion. DineEquity Inc (NYSE: DIN) swung to a fourth-quarter profit. DineEquity's system-wide domestic same-restaurant sales climbed 1%. DineEquity posted its quarterly profit at $28.6 million, versus a year-ago loss of $50.8 million. Its per-share profit came in at $1.51, versus a year-ago loss of $3.33. Excluding one-time items, the company's profit came in at $0.91 per share. DineEquity's revenue dropped 19% to $242.2 million. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.85 per share on $242.3 million in revenue. Bombardier Inc (OTC: BDRBF) reported a 27% drop in its fourth-quarter earnings. Bombardier's quarterly earnings declined to $214 million, or $0.12 per share, from $295 million, or $0.16 per share, in the year-earlier period. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.11 per share. Bombardier's revenue dropped to $4.32 billion from $5.59 billion, versus analysts' estimates of $4.74 billion. Woolworths Ltd (OTC: WOLWF) reported a 17% drop in its first-half net profit. Woolworths' net profit for the six months to December 31 declined to 966.9 million Australian dollars (US$1.04 billion), versus A$1.16 billion, in the year-ago period. However, analysts were expecting a net profit of A$961.4 million. Its revenue climbed 5.0% to A$29.91 billion from A$28.48 billion. Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Holdings Ltd (OTC: YSHLF) posted a 24% surge in its Q4 net profit. Yangzijiang Shipbuilding's quarterly net profit climbed to CNY1.04 billion, from CNY838.1 million, in the prior year. Analysts were expecting a net profit of CNY1.05 billion. Its revenue rose 21% to CNY5.24 billion, versus analysts' estimates of CNY3.74 billion. Citic Pacific Ltd (OTC: CTPCY) posted a 4% rise in its 2011 net profit. Citic Pacific's net profit for the period surged to HK$9.23 billion, from a restated HK$8.89 billion, in the year-ago period. Its revenue jumped 42% to HK$100.09 billion from HK$70.61 billion. Royal Ahold NV reported a 75% surge in its net profit for the fourth quarter. Ahold's quarterly revenue climbed 4.5% to EUR7.29 billion, versus EUR6.98 billion, in the year-ago period. Its operating income rose 11.2% to EUR28 million, from EUR295 million. Ahold's net income surged to EUR270 million, from EUR154 million.Essilor International SA (OTC: ESLOY) posted a 9.4% rise in its 2011 net profit. Essilor's net profit for the period climbed to EUR506 million. Its overall revenue surged 7.7% to EUR4.19 billion.Havas SA (OTC: HAVSF) posted a 9% rise in its net profit in 2011. Havas' net profit surged to EUR120 million in 2011. Its overall revenue climbed 5.6% to EUR1.65 billion. Income from Operations rose to EUR220 million from EUR204 million in 2010.OAO Lukoil Holdings (OTC: LUKOY) reported a 39% drop in its fourth-quarter net profit. Lukoil's quarterly net profit declined to $1.35 billion, from $2.19 billion, in the year-ago period. However, analysts were expecting a net profit of $2.64 billion. Lukoil's revenue for the full year surged 27% to $133.65 billion from $104.96 billion. Its earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) climbed to $18.61 billion from $16.05 billion.
