Shares of iRobot Corporation (NASDAQ: IRBT) are soaring today, gaining almost 8%, after Standard & Poor's announced last night it would be including the company in its S&P SmallCap 600 Index.IRobot is replacing EMS Technologies Inc. in the index because it is being acquired. At last check, shares of IRBT were up $2.10 to $29.60, a gain of 7.14%. Earlier in the session, shares had hit a high of $30.14.iRobot Corporation designs and builds robots for the consumer, government, and industrial markets. The company offers consumer products, such as floor vacuuming robots, floor washing robots, pool cleaning robots, gutter cleaning robots, and others.
