Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ:ZBRA), an innovator at the edge of the enterprise with solutions and partners that enable businesses to gain a performance edge, will hold a press conference to showcase key data from this season. As the "Official On-Field Player Tracking Provider" for the NFL, Zebra will be represented by Zebra® Sports Vice President of Business Development, John Pollard, who will take attendees inside the technology that tracks players and footballs to generate NextGenStats which has increased fan engagement with the NFL's digital experience during the 2018 regular season.

This season also marks the first time all NFL teams had access to league-wide, 11-on-11 data following each game for a new level of advanced self-scouting and game strategy applications. In previous seasons, NFL clubs only had access to their own tracking data following each game. Pollard will share insights on the distribution of comprehensive in-game player tracking data to all NFL teams and highlights from the Reese's Senior Bowl and practices leading up to the Jan. 26 game at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama.

To enable the data collection, Zebra attaches RFID tags in player equipment and the football, transmitting real-time location data to receivers positioned around the stadium to gather metrics such as player speed, distance traveled, orientation and acceleration. A growing number of NFL clubs—about one-third of the league—use Zebra's practice solution to capture player tracking information throughout the practice week over the course of the season. As a global leader in location solutions, Zebra provides tracking technology for enterprises of all sizes in healthcare, retail, manufacturing and transportation and logistics to deliver a performance edge to the front line of business.
