LONG BEACH, Calif., Jan. 17, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Join Soroptimist International of Long Beach on Saturday January 26th for a double movie feature, deli lunch, and silent auction to improve the lives of local women, girls, and Meals on Wheels! All funds raised will be used to initiate or support programs which will help women and girls achieve their dreams and careers aspirations through scholarships and grants. In addition, one of SILB's projects nearly three decades ago, was to provide the seed monies to start the local Meal on Wheels program which serves in-home meals to seniors in the Long Beach, Seal Beach and Los Alamitos areas. To provide ongoing funding, events are organized annually to galvanize support and raise funds for efforts. Tickets can be purchased at https://soroptimist-longbeach.org/.
On Saturday, January 26, 2019, SILB will once again host their Munch N' Two Movies event which comes with a deli meal and silent auction at the Scottish Rite Event Center 855 Elm Avenue, Long Beach. The Double Feature includes Princess Bride, which starts at 12:30 pm, deli meal and silent auction will be at 2:15 pm and the second feature, When Harry Met Sally will start at 3:15pm. Tickets for the double feature movies and deli meal are just $50.00 per person. There will also be beer and wine available for purchase.
The event is aimed to raise $15,000, with the net profits going to the Meals on Wheels program. Funds will also sponsor the Live Your Dream: Education and Training scholarships and Dream It, Be It, a career support program at local high schools.
