Yelp Acquires Eat24 for $134M in Cash, Stock DealThe Deal:
Yelp Inc.
YELP announced Tuesday, it has acquired web and app-based online food ordering service Eat24, for approximately $134 million. The deal consists of approximately 1.4 million shares of Yelp Class A common stock and $75 million cash.
The transaction closed on February 9, 2015.
Yelp shares gained almost 6% Tuesday, closing at $44.66.
Sycamore Partners Reportedly in Advanced Talks to Acquire Chico's FASThe Rumor:
Shares of Chico's FAS Inc.
CHS spiked higher after-hours Tuesday, on a report from the
Wall Street Journal, that private-equity firm Sycamore Partners is in advanced talks to acquire the retailer.
According to sources, the deal could be worth $3 billion.
Chico's shares closed Tuesday at $17.25, and traded as high as $21.92 after-hours.
Hearing Unconfirmed Market Chatter Garmin Rejected $64 Bid from HoneywellThe Rumor:
Garmin Ltd.
GRMN reportedly recently rejected a $64.00 per share stock & cash bid from from Honeywell International Inc.
HON, according to unconfirmed market sources. Industry sources say that a deal for Garmin could be done above $70.00 per share.
Spokespersons for Garmin and Honeywell were not available for comment.
