On January 23, 2017, NCI announced that it has discovered that its controller embezzled approximately $18 million from the Company over the last six years – $5 million of which was stolen in 2016 alone. Further, NCI found that the unaudited interim financial statements for the nine-month period ending September 30, 2016, contain material errors related to the theft and "should not be relied upon by investors." Following this news, NCI shares declined $1.30 per share on January 23, 2017 to close at $12.65.
