CLEARWATER, Fla., Oct. 20, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On the 19th of November at 7:30 pm, pianist Elmira Terkulova of Russia will perform at the Scientology Information Center in Downtown Clearwater.  This will be Ms. Terkulova's debut Clearwater concert and will feature classical interpretations of pop songs and songs from her own album all promoting human rights.

Ms. Terkulova, born after the fall of the Iron Curtain, never knew communism and the restrictions of religious worship. However, her parents and grandparents lived through that time. Recently, due to a law passed in Russia (the 'Yarovaya Law') prohibiting citizens from discussing their religious beliefs in locations other than a place of worship, Russia has returned to some of those earlier restrictions of freedom of speech and religion.

In fulfillment of her dreams as an artist, Ms. Terkulova recently began performing throughout Russia.  She said, "I believe music inspires higher awareness and increased belief in oneself spiritually.  I want to inspire others to have the courage to express such freedom and to worship as they feel they should," said Elmira.

"At the Information Center, we not only provide answers to questions about Scientology, we also enjoy bringing people together from all walks of life and creating a sense of community through events such as these," said Amber Skjelset, Manager of the Information Center.

At the concert, refreshments will be served, there is no cost to attend and all are welcome.  The center, located at 500 Cleveland Street in Downtown Clearwater, is housed in the Historic Bank of Clearwater.
