Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA (ADR) (NYSE: BBVA) has been organizing Open Talent for eight consecutive years. This program seeks to “foster innovation in the banking ecosystem as well as in the world of finance,” and is aimed at startups registered on or after 2012, which are still in its operational project or beta stages, and that count with less than 2.5 million euros funding and under 1.5 million euros revenue in the last year.

Among this year’s Open Talent finalists is GovBrain, a political intelligence website that uses automated processes to analyze political events and link them to particular ticker symbols. The idea here is to determine how government initiatives affect the financial markets.
