HF Financial Corp. (Nasdaq: HFFC) today reported it earned $1.7 million, or $0.25 per diluted share in the second fiscal quarter ended December 31, 2010, up from $490,000, or $0.07 per diluted share in the first fiscal quarter of 2011. Net income for the fiscal second quarter a year ago was $2.0 million, or $0.38 per diluted share, when it had 1.8 million fewer diluted weighted average shares than it did at December 31, 2010. In the first six months of fiscal 2011, net income totaled $2.2 million, or $0.32 per diluted share, compared to $2.8 million, or $0.61 per diluted share in the first six months of fiscal 2010.
