Kratos Granted $22.3 Million Contract By Defense Department

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: KTOS) revealed Friday it was granted a contract by the Joint Operational Medicine Information Systems (JOMIS) to support the Theater Medical Information Program - Joint (TMIP-J). According to the company, the award included a base contract plus five options.

Kratos SVP of Enterprise Technology Solutions, Mike Smith, commented, "As a key component of JOMIS, TMIP-J is an important effort that helps ensure that the Department of Defense's operational medicine systems are synchronized and aligned with modernization efforts. It is gratifying to see the vote of confidence this recompete win shows in the support Kratos has provided."

The company indicated TMIP-J is a legacy medical records system for theater and shipboard medical records ensuring that those records are loaded into the greater Defense Medical Records system. The company added that working with its partner, Planned Systems International, Inc. (PSI), Kratos would continue integration activities to modernize, maintain and provide incremental updates to associated information technology applications.

The stock was down 4.11 percent on Thursday.
