Good news for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL)'s smartwatch owners who aren't satisfied with their device: You can trade in your device and receive a credit of up to $250 towards the purchase of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT)'s new smartwatch, the Band 2.

According to Microsoft's online store, Apple's Stainless Steel 38MM Watch can be exchanged for up to a $250 credit while lower end models, such as the Silver Aluminum 38MM case can be exchanged for a credit of up to $150.

Microsoft's offer also applies to prior models of its Band devices and competing devices from Fitbit Inc (NYSE: FIT), Nike Inc (NYSE: NKE), and many other manufacturers.

According to Apple Insider, Apple has been the "dominant" player in the space - likely indicating why Microsoft is undertaking its latest promotion.

Meanwhile, ZDNet argued that the Microsoft Band 2 is "the device to consider" for users that are "serious" about improving their health as Apple's client base mostly use their Watch for time and notifications.
