SAN DIEGO, Jan. 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM) today announced the appointment of Jeffrey W. Henderson to its Board of Directors. Henderson brings 30 years of financial and operational management experience to his position as an independent director, including 10 years as Chief Financial Officer of Cardinal Health, a Fortune 30 healthcare company.

During his tenure in senior operational and financial management positions, Henderson has successfully executed on strategic growth and transformation strategies, including strategies to adapt and grow in the fast-changing global healthcare landscape and expand into new, complementary business areas.

Henderson has been an Advisory Director to Berkshire Partners LLC, a private equity firm, since September 2015. He served as Chief Financial Officer of Cardinal Health Inc., a healthcare services company, from May 2005 to November 2014. Prior to joining Cardinal Health, Henderson held multiple positions at Eli Lilly and General Motors, including serving as President and General Manager of Eli Lilly Canada, Controller and Treasurer of Eli Lilly Inc. and in management positions with General Motors in Great Britain, Singapore, Canada and the U.S.

Henderson has been a Director of Halozyme Therapeutics, Inc. since August 2015 and a Director of FibroGen, Inc. since August 2015. He holds a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Kettering University and an M.B.A. degree from Harvard Business School.
