The Street is speculating reasons behind Twitter Inc (NYSE: TWTR)'s dramatic fall following its earnings release. Jason Calacanis, Inside.com founder and CEO, was on CNBC to discuss what he thinks is the reason behind this fall and if declining user growth is a major concern for the company.

Clarity On Jack's Role

"The CEO transition is not super smooth," Calacanis began. "I mean to get on the conference call and talk about all the bad things about the stock and the company I think is a little bit of a mistake. And you really have to have some clarity on what Jack's role is going to be."

He continued, "Jack is obviously super talented, super smart, but do we know if he wants the job? Is he saying if he wants the job or not? I think having a lot of clarity there would go a long way, so that people could say, okay, Jack is the guy or Jack is not the guy."

Revenue And Being A Sustainable Business Is As Important As Growth

On Twitter's declining user growth, Calacanis said, "They're really setting the bar low and growth is important, but I think a lot of people would argue that revenue and being a sustainable business is also equally important if not more important. So there is a good revenue story and the people who are using this service are fantastic, right? The presidential debates are actually occurring everyday on Twitter."

"So there are all these amazing things going on on the platform and I think what they have to say is listen, there is a natural audience for Twitter and it's this size and we are building these other services like Vine and Periscope and other products we plan to launch as well," Calacanis concluded.
